German Shorthaired Pointer A Look of Nobility.
With the German Shorthaired Pointer, the over-all
picture which is created in the observer's eye should be
that of an aristocratic, well-balanced, symmetrical animal
with conformation indicating power, endurance, agility,
and a look of intelligence and animation.
Medium in size, the Shorthaired Pointer is
graceful looking, with clean-cut head, sloping shoulders,
deep breast, a powerful back, strong quarters, good bone,
with adequate muscle, well-carried tail, and taut coat all of
which should combine to produce a look of nobility.
The Short-haired Pointer is reknowned as an
all-purpose hunting dog. His nose is very keen and his
eyes and mind sharp. This obedient, webbed footed friend
will trail, point and retrieve, on land or in icy waters.
Pointers require a larger size
home and fair amount of exercise. They shed a bit and so
should be groomed at least once a week. They are friendly,
intelligent, good watchdogs, and willing to please.
